BelCCI teams up with Eurasian Economic Commission to simplify paperwork for business

16.09.2022
MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – In the Eurasian Economic Commission we are working on simplifying export paperwork for business, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov told the media on the sidelines of the 13th international science and practice conference held in Minsk on 15 September to discuss innovations in logistics and customs as a way to bolster the resilience of supply chains, BelTA has learned.

"With an aim of promoting Belarusian exports and expanding the list of countries providing preferential treatment for domestic goods, we, together with the State Customs Committee, are taking part in the EEC's consultations to draw up agreements on a free trade zone with Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel and a number of other countries. These documents suggest the use of an electronic system for the exchange of information about issued certificates. This will save our business from the need to provide the country of import with paper certificates and ease the registration of export documents," Mikhail Myatlikov explained.

According to him, the introduction of digital technologies in the certification processes is being discussed by foreign partners within the framework of the trade agreements.

"At the moment, we are working together to determine the requirements for the electronic system of certification and verification of the origin of goods with Vietnam, Serbia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Certification of the origin of goods is one of the main areas of interaction between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and customs authorities," the head of the BelCCI said.

He also noted that the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry annually issues about 180,000 certificates of origin of goods, which suggest the application of preferential treatment and support for export deliveries to more than 130 countries.
